asml experience center opened

ASML – major driving force behind microchip technology - has opened its new Experience Center at the heart of the campus in Veldhoven. Tinker created a place of 500m2 where visitors experience the essence of the ASML operation. It’s mission, technology, social impact and people are shown in an aspirational setting. The Experience Center focusses on high potentials, schools, customers, suppliers and staff.

We have created a dynamic set of media tools, that select, bundle and display inspiring data to inform and connect people and which contribute to the innovation power of ASML”, stated Stan Boshouwers.

The EC has the look and feel of a cleanroom with a white, light atmosphere, yellow glasses and similar signing. The experience provides something for every type of visitor. A wafer-shaped film on the ground introduces a broad audience to the world of ASML. They can stand 360 degrous around it. The timeline (ASML journey) illustrates ASML’s evolution and historical impact since 1985. With the use of graphics technological innovations are linked to the effects on everyday life.

The Arena with a huge interactive multiscreen video wall is the beating heart of the experience. In this ‘mission control center’ people can activate a semi-live data impression of the company, sneak peak in the cleanroom area and details of the production process through animations. Another highlight is a full-size projection of an EUV-machine – the Holy Grail of ASML -, which can be experienced in Virtual Reality. With the use of 3D-glasses a complete walkthrough comes to life with two explanatory levels. ‘Living Expos’ on plateaus at the EC showcase intriguing lithography machine parts in reality.

Besides fascinating technology and data ASML gives inside into their human networks. Visitors, for example new hires, are invited to scan through the touchscreen Community Browser in search for employees with specific interests or expertise areas. To conclude, the EC is a spot for creators too. The transparent Maker Space inside is meant for activity-bases workshops like for school children. Visitors at the campus are welcome by invitation.

More to come… the ASML Experience Center will play an important role in the new ASML onboarding program. Information about this expedition will follow soon.
