My father is a researcher, so he probably inspired my fascination and curiosity about the world around us.

As architects, designers and imagineers, we have an opportunity to shape people’s surroundings and so to influence the way people view, see and experience the world.

Spatial issues in particular continue to fascinate me: how do we make sure that people come to visit a specific exhibition or area and keep coming back, and how do we make the most of physical space that is currently not (or insufficiently) used.

Bringing about change through big ideas with a great effect is what makes me tick: some sand turning a shabby harbour into an area for recreation and play for children who have never seen a beach – that is plain magic!

I love taking on such projects: creating spaces and telling stories that matter. To influence the perceptions of visitors and viewers with great design, audio and film.

When I was young, I first wanted to be the host of Het Klokhuis (a Dutch infotainment show for children), and later dreamt of becoming a journalist. That never happened, but I was involved in a number of beautiful productions and exhibitions, both as an actor and as a director. In my work as a project manager with Tinker, my love of storytelling and my love of the physical space come to full bloom!
