Using graphic design to augment the content

My approach is spatial: A book, brochure, or website are physical products, as are exhibitions. They all bring their own specific stories to the visitor, reader, or user. The visual outcome of an assignment depends on the subject matter and the spatial context. I focus on the essence of the story because an authentic product can only be created by making design choices that match the content. As a designer, I want to provide ‘genuine’ access to the content through my designs. Having form and content reveal themselves in a natural way.

I get a kick out of developing ideas and concepts as part of a collective. An interdisciplinary approach invites the exchange of knowledge and ideas. It is both instructive and improves the end product. As a graphic designer, I love contributing to something that is greater than the sum of its parts.
