exhibition on female monarchy opens at paleis het loo

Yesterday marked the festive opening of Counterplay - A Century of Female Monarchy at Paleis Het Loo. We had the honour of designing this temporary exhibition, bringing three generations of queens to life together with the museum team: Wilhelmina, Juliana, and Beatrix.

Through projections, historical objects, and a strong dose of storytelling, we guide visitors through the interplay between image and reality, tradition and renewal. Counterplay reveals how female leadership evolved during a century of social change and how these stories continue to resonate today.

We’re proud of the result and of our collaboration with the team at Paleis Het Loo. Counterplay is on view from 18 April through 31 August 2025. More about this exhibition on our project page.
